While the U.S. electorate was busy casting their ballots Wednesday (Philippine time), another sort of election-related buzz was generated by the rest of the planet’s wisenheimer netizens. After all, how can a life-changing event pass without a meme? The subject? No less than the now re-elected President of the United States of America, Barack Hussein Obama, trololol. You might already be very familiar with the “Not Bad” meme, where Obama’s mouth is turned down at the corners in a very deep frown. But instead of conveying dismay or disapproval, the meme is used as a positive response to an event that went well, or went beyond one's expectations of "well", such as this year’s elections. Or, at least, it went really well for Obama supporters. The recent election inspired this creative wave of memes. Given the track record of netizens in the past, it isn't surprising that this latest set is sure to tickle the ribs of everyone, everywhere - whether they are Americans or non-Americans, Democrats, and yes, maybe even Republicans.
