Facebook rolls out friendship timeline feature
Facebook is extending its controversial Timeline feature to friendships, rolling out the feature to apply to friendship pages between a Facebook member and his or her Facebook friend.
The friendship pages, which had been on Facebook since October 2010, display any information, including photos and status messages, between the Facebook member and friend.
"Now Facebook is giving those friendship pages an upgrade, in order to make them look more like Timeline profiles. And as a bonus, it’s adding a new page for you and anyone you’re in a relationship with: the adorably-named facebook.com/us," tech site Mashable reported on Friday.
It said the feature, which is being rolled out slowly, will allow a user to edit the page, including "removing photos that are unflattering to that relationship."
However, removing the material from the timeline in the friendship page will not necessarily remove it from Facebook.
"Like much else about the social network, it’s a revealing and slightly disturbing look at just how much information has been gathered on you," it noted.
Mashable said one can access the friendship page between Facebook members by going to the friend's profile page and clicking the gear button and clicking on Friendship page.
