Some things are not only wrong, but frong (hey, look it up). Or as many have tweeted recently, "maling-mali."

Now it can be told: The Twitter hashtag #MalingMali that has trended world-wide was conceptualized as part of GMA Network’s Dapat Tama campaign.
With just a few months to go before the 2013 national elections, it was time for Filipino voters to ask themselves: Do our nation's leaders know the difference between right and wrong? And how can the voting public remind them?
The inspiration for Dapat Tama came from GMA News and Public Affairs VP for News, Jessica Soho, who observed that people often still do something even if they know it's wrong.

#MalingMali trended on Twitter on Thursday, as users openly shared and bared more than a few elephants in the room —from personal annoyances to serious social ills.

Netizens tweeted about a wide range of "wrong" things, from rude MRT passengers and cheating exes to "epal" politicians and blatant government corruption.

#MalingMali stayed in the top spot among Philippine trending topics for most of the day on November 29, and even made it to the worldwide trending topics list. Various public personalities used the hashtag to voice everyday problems that resonated with other netizens:

Come election day, GMA Network hopes that the voting public will take "Dapat Tama" to heart, and influence candidates to do the same.

— TJD/HS, GMA News
