Fans of singer-songwriter Neil Young who chanced on inappropriate content on their idol's Twitter account over the weekend can now rest easy – the account's been restored.

As of Saturday PHL time, Young's Twitter account appeared to be hacked by one "Slut for the D," which posted pornographic images on the account.

The account (@neilyoung) was suspended as of early Sunday, but was back online as of 8 a.m., though the last entry was May 29.

An article on tech site Mashable said the hacker who attacked Young's account posted pornographic images, "many of them retweets from the account of a prominent porn site."

"The hacker also sent out several expletive-laden tweets, adding the hashtag #neilslayed to some of them, apparently to draw attention to the hack," it said.

Mashable said John Hamm, CEO of Young-backed PonoMusic, confirmed the hacking and said Young's management was in contact with Twitter about restoring the account. — Joel Locsin /LBG, GMA News
