Globe offers Facebook access for free

Globe is now offering free access to Facebook without incurring any charges, the type of access depending on whether you’re a TM subscriber or a Globe user using their GoSURF data plan.

The “Facebook with free data” option allows subscribers access to a lightweight version of Facebook, with limited access to both photos and videos.

To use Facebook with free data, users need the latest version of the Facebook Android app, or they can visit Facebook in their mobile’s browser. A prompt will appear, asking them to opt in or out of Facebook with free data.

Globe users who’ve subscribed to the GoSURF consumable data plan will have free access to Facebook, which include viewing both photos and videos, and posting, liking, sharing, and commenting. Free access to Facebook’s Messenger app, excluding making calls, is also included.

TM users who’ve bought a Choose-Your-Number SIM will have free full Facebook access for 7 days. The only requirement is a maintaining load balance of at least PHP 1.00.

This week as well, Smart rolled out its free Instagram access for both postpaid and prepaid users. Both promos came out during a time when Smart and Globe tied up with Facebook to provide free access to online content via their Internet.org app. -Bea Montenegro/NB, GMA News
