Filling the world's largest indoor arena to the last chair may already seem like a feat in itself, but 'Eat Bulaga: Sa Tamang Panahon' also made its mark on social media after recording one of the largest number of tweets for an event.

The historic production by the longest-running noontime show in the Philippines, happened last Saturday in the Philippine Arena in front of an audience of 55,000.

Fans from all over the world who were not present at the venue made their presence felt by tweeting non-stop last October 24.

#ALDubEBTamangPanahon garnered a total of 41 million tweets, Twitter confirmed on Monday, beating the show's own record of 25.6 million tweets last September, as well as FIFA World Cup's 32 million tweets, and Superbowl's 25 million tweets.

"Twitter has given us a home, a community where we, the team behind the show and the viewers and followers, can interact. This is a realtime love story a love affair between Eat Bulaga and our viewers. Twitter is the Cupid. This love gets stronger with every Tweet, favourite and Retweet,” said Jenny Ferre, Senior Vice President - Creatives of TAPE Inc. which produces Eat Bulaga.

"The ALDub phenomenon continues to make history with a new global Twitter record by taking a love story that’s captured the imagination of people all over the world and combining it with the Tamang Panahon charity concert broadcasted live worldwide," added Rishi Jaitly, Vice President of Media, Asia Pacific and Middle East, Twitter.

"We are delighted that Twitter continues to be a way for millions of Filipinos to keep up with the latest updates from news, culture and the world and share the experience with others from across the country." —Bianca Rose Dabu/Design by Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/JST/BM, GMA News
