After a series of malicious encounters with taxi drivers reported in social and mainstream media — one of which shockingly involves a katana — Facebook user Rommel Lopez breaks the streak to remind people that #notalltaxidrivers are swearing, sword-wielding bags of stress.

Lopez wrote about Mr. Eugenio Ventura, a 63-year-old taxi driver who joyfully performs his duties and even refused a larger tip. Lopez's post has since been shared more than 114,000 times (with 252,448 likes and counting!).

"Sir, pasok lang. Hindi ako namimili ng pasahero. Kahit saan kayo pupunta, ihahatid ko kayo," he quoted Ventura saying as the driver welcomed him into the cab.

Lopez shared that he was initially hesitant about Ventura's pleasant disposition, but ended up enjoying his short trip. He learned that Ventura acknowledges the fact that the passengers are paying for a service, which means being nice to them is part of the job.

"Kayo ang pinanggagalingan ng aming kabuhayan," Ventura told Lopez.

To top it off, Ventura readily gave Lopez's P20 change when they reached their destination—plus the receipt, too. Lopez tried to give the P20 as tip, but Ventura refused.

As a reward, Lopez simply decided to snap a photo of the driver and share his story. Ventura continues to receive praises for his deed...plus compliments, including Facebook user Tom Borromeo saying he bears a striking resemblance to George Takei or Mr. Sulu from Star Trek. —Aya Tantiangco/JST, GMA News
