Kitty Duterte calls dad Digong after speech... to ask for help for SONA homework
Every year, students are often assigned to do reports about the State of the Nation Address (SONA) for class, with students gearing up for discussion by following news reports and videos of the speech.
But 12-year-old Veronica "Kitty" Duterte needed to make only one phone call to get to the best source: her father President Rodrigo, who delivered the SONA that would be discussed in her class the next day.
The youngest daughter of the president called him in the middle of a post-SONA private dinner attended by friends and select journalists.
Kitty's mom, Honeylet Avanceña, said that Kitty was not able to attend her dad's first SONA because she was at school.
A clip from a report by GMA News' Ian Cruz showed the President on the phone, giving Kitty a rundown of what he told Congress and the Filipino people in his speech, which ran for an hour and 32 minutes.
In it, he was telling his daughter that he talked about the need for "... understanding, especially with the Moro people and the communist."
"Then I talked about drugs and the need to stop it... and I talked about helping the poor," he was heard saying. — Rose-An Jessica Dioquino/JST, GMA News
