BI PROBING MATTER

Maria Ozawa slams 'bastos' leak of passport, photo on FB

Japanese actress Maria Ozawa took to Facebook to air her frustration after a photo of her passport was posted on social media by an alleged employee of the Bureau of Immigration.

Ozawa said Wednesday she learned about the post of a certain Armee Camzon on her passport's front cover and photo ID through a friend.

Calling it "very wrong," the former adult film actress said Immigration personnel are not supposed to disclose identities of people transacting with them.

"I love this country and I'm doing my very best to stay here for good but how can I stay here for good when people like this really exist? How I'm I supposed to trust people? If this was just someone I knew or some random people posting it for fun I can understand," Ozawa added.

"They are just being bastos. But people who actually work in the Immigration doing stuff like this? I just cannot believe it."

Sought for comment, BI spokesperson Ma. Antonette Mangrobang said they are already looking into Ozawa's allegation.

"The BI Personnel Section was tasked to confirm whether the person who holds the account is one among BI's almost 2,000 employees," Mangrobang said in a text message to GMA News Online.

The BI also assured it "does not condone nor tolerate these acts."

"We assure the public that such case is isolated and the right to privacy of BI's clients is our paramount concern," Mangrobang said.

The actress has already left to her managers to decide if she should take legal action in connection with the passport leak. —JST, GMA News
