Halloween decoration in QC subdivision reflects #cardboardjustice
A subdivision in Quezon City has put up Halloween decorations, but instead of supernatural creatures, figures wrapped in plastic bags and packing tape can be seen at the village clubhouse.
Kristoffer Aleksie on Sunday shared photos of the decoration set up by the maintenance personnel at Granwood Villas, BF Homes, Quezon City. Aleksie told GMA News Online that this was done without consultation with the home owners.
"Some residents say its in bad taste," he revealed. "Most find it cool and socially relevant."
"There is some talk of wanting it to be removed, but no action of actually reporting them or filing complaints," he added. The wrapped figures and the "'wag tularan" sign have been up for a week.
In his caption, Aleksie wrote that the decoration is a reminder of the true horrors happening in the country.
President Rodrigo Duterte's war on drugs has attracted widespread attention, largely because of alleged extrajudicial killings of drug suspects. Aside from neutralized suspects, various groups have called on the government to acknowledge the problem of dead bodies being found with accusations written on cardboard. —ALG, GMA News
