Maine is the 5th most-tweeted celebrity in the world

Maine Mendoza continues to be the queen of Philippine Twitter.

The Eat Bulaga sweetheart was the fifth most-tweeted celebrity in the world, the social media platform announced on Friday. She was the only Filipino in the top list.

This year has been the year of K-pop as @BTS_twt @pledis_17 @OfficialMonstaX dominated the list of most Tweeted celebrities around the world. @mainedcm ranks #5 in the list, cementing her status as one of the hottest celebrities on Twitter. Taking the top two spots are K-Pop artists Bangtan Boys and Seventeen. Cuban-American singer Camila Cabello was at number three, while Justin Bieber was fourth.

For 2017, Maine and Alden Richards also topped the "Most Tweeted-About Love Teams" in the Philippines. The AlDub couple were also the most-tweeted celebrities in the country. —JST, GMA News
