Cellphone lost in January recovered in July through a man's kindness
If you lost your cellphone seven months ago, would you believe it if a stranger tells you he found it the other day?
Against the advice of everyone she knew, Cha Buenconsejo met up with a stranger who texted her and said he found her lost iPhone in an aircon bus in Fairview, Quezon City.
"I did the sketchiest thing & met up with a stranger who texted me 2 days ago claiming he found a Lost iPhone last Tuesday on an aircon bus in Fairview. Obviously it’s insane cos i lost my phone 7 MONTHS AGO. He even apologized texting 'sorry ngayon ko lng na text bumili pa kasi ako charger para ma on at malaman kanino to,'" Buenconsejo wrote in a post on Facebook.
"Of course everyone warned me about a possible modus but im brave & very very very stupid so i took the chance," she added.
Buenconsejo met with the stranger outside Mercury Drug on Kamuning Road at 9 a.m. and immediately felt good about this man.
"The moment i saw him i knew he was a good fella. He handed me my phone along with the charger he bought," she said.
The Good Samaritan advised Buenconsejo to take care of her phone.
"He told me 'mahirap kumita pakiangatan niyo yung gamit niyo mukhang mahal yung phone na yan,'" she said.
But here's the thing. The man refused to accept the reward Buenconsejo was offering.
"He even REFUSED to accept my cash reward. So i insisted to at least give him money to commute because he came all the way from BULACAN.. Also told him to keep the charger & just sell it," she wrote.
"The joy of getting my phone back after missing for 7 months pales in comparison to the comfort of knowing there are still good hearted people out there...," Buenconsejo said.
She then shared a photo of the man who came all the way from Bulacan to return her phone.
"Here's a picture of humanity being restored. I WAS TOLD A MAN WHO WEARS CROCS IS A GOOD MAN.....," Buenconsejo said.
Over 100,000 netizens liked Buenconsejo's post as of posting time, many of them praising the stranger for his act of kindness. —KG, GMA News
