Hayden Kho defends himself after netizen criticizes him for 'sexual sins' lecture

Celebrity doctor and the husband of Dr. Vicki Belo, Hayden Kho, was quick to defend himself after a netizen criticized him for posting a bible verse and "lecturing" his followers about "sexual sins."

On Instagram, Hayden posted a photo of the bible verse 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. It read:

"Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were brought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies."

In the caption, Hayden said "There’s more to sex than mere skin on skin. Sex is as much spiritual mystery as physical fact. As written in Scripture, “The two become one.”

He said if one wants to "become spiritually one with the Master, we must not pursue the kind of sex that avoids commitment and intimacy, leaving us more lonely than ever—the kind of sex that can never “become one.”"

"There is a sense in which sexual sins are different from all others. In sexual sin we violate the sacredness of our own bodies, these bodies that were made for God-given and God-modeled love, for “becoming one” with another," he added.

An Instagram user @meggiesy left a straightforward comment: "This coming from you is a joke."

Hayden replied and defended himself, saying he is serious with what he is preaching.

He also admitted living his life "recklessly" during his younger years but has learned his lesson the hard way through "God's merciful discipline."

"@meggiesy oh I take this seriously. I lived my life recklessly in my youth asked I became the laughing stock of people like you. I learned my lesson the hard way through God's merciful discipline. "

He said the post is his way of sharing what he has learned in the past to the younger generation.

"Now I just want to share with others what I learned, especially to the younger generation, so that they don't make the same mistake. Anyway, 'out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.' This is what's on mine and you just revealed what's on yours."

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) divested the medical license of Hayden after actor Katrina Halili filed an administrative complaint before the PRC. The two figured in a sex video scandal in 2009. His license was reinstated in 2013. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
