Yan Yuzon trends with #TulfoTwang

After last week’s senate probe on the P60M deal between PTV-4 and Bitag Media Unlimted Inc. — where Ben Tulfo’s signature accent was on full display, if we may add – the fun-loving musician took to Facebook and presumably impersonated Ben.

Unlike most us who like to impersonate Ben in secret whenever we encounter his unique voice, Yan filmed himself doing it and uploaded the clips to Facebook. “The Tulfo twang is honestly my guiltiest pleasure,” he captioned a three-part series of short video clips that starred himself.

In the first video, he is on his left side, facing the camera sideways and explaining that he was stretching his lower back “sapagkat ito’y sumasakit,” he said in his Tulfo Twang.

In the next video, he appears on his right side and still speaking in his Tulfo Twang, said he was now stretching the other side, because it was also hurting.

In the last, he was facing the camera front-and-center and in full character: “Ano? Hindi sumasakit ang katawan mo? I don’t believe you,” he said, obviously still in his Tulfo Twang.

It’s a pretty hilarious  series which he uploaded on his account last Wednesday August 15. Since then, the post has generated over 2,000 shares, 750 comments and nearly 3,000 interactions.

The following day, Yan served another set of videos. "Apparently, there is this insistent public demand for more Tulfo Twang," he began in full character.

And where the original post had him complaining of body aches, this time around, his Tulfo Twang monologue had Yan (1) encouraging people to join the little Tulfo Twang game he unknowingly created and (2) talking about...exquisite coffee.

By the weekend, Yan had attracted a slew of haters, reading politics into his "guiltiest pleasure" as well as a few supporters who actually made their own Tulfo Twang videos, like comedian Gabe Mercado below.
