Sen. Tito Sotto sings proposed new lines to ‘Lupang Hinirang’

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Senate president Tito Sotto demonstrated his proposed change to the Lupang Hinirang. 

"Aming ligaya na pag may mang-aapi ang ipagbalan ang kalayaan mo," he gamely sang his suggested new lyrics to the National Anthem.

“Ako naman...nakaka-intindi ng kultura at paggawa ng awitin. Parang defeatist yung last line. Imbis na lumaban, eh mamatay,” he explained.
