Babajie and Italian bae reveal the real score between them

She has always been the butt of the joke, but now Babajie is everyone's envy.

Photos of her with her Italian bae made a splash on social media, making people think, "Sana all!"

But what is the true nature of their relationship? The Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho team attempted to find out in their latest episode.

Both Babajie and Ciro, the now internet-famous foreigner, have loved and lost before.

Babajie, who is used to being mocked and hurt by the public, once found love in a handsome man who was introduced to her by a friend.

However, their relationship didn't last very long.

"Busy lang kami sa ginagawa kasi nag-aaral siya tapos nagtatrabaho ako," she said. "Nag-usap na lang kami...Sabi ko, 'Friends na lang tayo. Marami pa tayong ginagawa. Nag-aaral ka pa'."

("We were both busy, he was studying and I was working. We talked, I told him let's stay friends. We both have a lot to do, you're still studying.")

She then attempted to find potential dates online, only to be rejected or ignored by most.

The spark she was searching for, she found backstage when she met Ciro.

"Pinakilala ako tapos...kasi sweet kasi siya e...Niyakap ako," she recalled.

"Sabi niya, 'Hello! Kamusta?' Tapos sabi ko, 'Ang gwapo naman nito!' Na-in love ako e," she added.

("We were introduced. He was sweet, he hugged me. He said, 'Hello! How are you?' I said 'How handsome!' I fell in love.")

Ciro gave her his number and his Facebook account. And to immortalize their meeting, the two took photos together and posted on social media.

In the wake of the social media storm, the KMJS team sought out Ciro, who they found in Cebu.

A pure Italian, he was born in Naples, Italy, but his mother abandoned him when he was 12.

Since his father was a seaman, he was mostly left alone with his grandparents.

"I've been depressed for like 3 years until I came here. Then, I experienced na nag-collapse ako everyday. Tapos bigla akong umiiyak," he said.

"I felt so bad like the end of the world because of course, the mother for every son is the number 1 figure of family. But, that's why na-depressed ako... but now, I'm kinda okay," he added.

His father then fell in love with a Filipina whom he met online. He decided to come to the Philippines, and eventually Ciro and his eldest brother moved, too.

Ciro learned Tagalog, and since he lived in Cebu, Bisaya as well.

"I fell in love with the Philippines, with the people especially. I found out na Filipinos are very welcoming people. Actually I feel more at home here," he said.

Even though his father and girlfriend eventually broke up, Ciro could not avoid falling in love himself.

He met his former partner at a bar, but their relationship only lasted three months.

Ciro then pursued one of his hobbies — modelling.

And just this past week, he went to Manila to renew his passport and went to an event where he met Babajie.

When they met, it was a different kind of feeling!

"Babajie is really a friendly person tapos friendly lang siya and down to earth, humble, she's very humble," Ciro said.

But what is the real score between them?

Apparently they're just friends!

Babajie and Ciro said that they were just joking around with the picture that turned viral.

However, their friendship is a strong one, and they're thankful to have met.

"Let's not love other people just by their looks but for who they really are," Ciro said. — Jessica Bartolome/LA, GMA News
