Fil-Am auditions for 'American Idol,' blows away judges and netizens

An 18-year-old pre-law student from San Francisco, California is already making waves after auditioning for Season 18 of "American Idol."

Francisco Martin had made quite the impression on the show's judges, as seen in the audition video posted on the American Idol Facebook page.

Francisco was visibly nervous coming in the studio, prompting judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan to approach him and try to calm him down.

Once he started to sing "Alaska" by Maggie Rogers, however, he blew them away.

"I just checked the pulse of a future superstar," Luke said.

Katy Perry claimed that Francisco was Top 10 material, while Luke said he believes he's in the Top 5.

Impressed, they even gave him a chance to perform one of the original songs he wrote.

"You're going to Hollywood!" they exclaimed.

Pinoy netizens of course were quick to determine him as a kababayan.

In fact, in this video by Mark Mactal, he is shown covering Juan Karlos' "Buwan" with the band All For Patricia.

Already, Francisco got the internet swooning and rooting for him.

His audition video has garnered over 6,500 reactions on Facebook.
