Amid the suspension of mass transportation in Metro Manila, this tricycle driver is making sure that members of his community can get to where they need to go.

Gnuhc Bacunin was spotted giving free rides to health workers and people who need to go buy food and medicine.

In a photo shared by Rai Carl, Bacunin's tricycle could be seen bearing the sign "Libreng sakay" and "mutual aid."

Carl shared that he was grateful for the service since he and his wife had to travel a long way.

He added that the driver refused to take any payment.

"Kahit anong abot namin nang bayad di nya tinanggap," he said.

In a post, Bacunin said, "Sa oras ng mga ganitong sitwasyon mahalaga isapraktika ang pakikipagkapwa-tulungan."

President Rodrigo Duterte had placed Luzon in an enhanced community quarantine to address the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the country.

Under this condition, strict home quarantine will be implemented in all households, transportation will be suspended, provision for food and essential health services will be regulated and the presence of uniformed personnel to enforce quarantine procedures will be heightened.

Health workers and even patients have since reported being forced to walk to their hospitals.
