This woman is feeding stray dogs amid community quarantine

The threat of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is not enough to stop an animal lover in Cebu from making sure stray dogs in her area has something to eat.

Alex Yna received a lot of praise from netizens after she was seen giving food and water to stray dogs in the Mandaue Reclamation area even with the entire province under enhanced community quarantine.

Yna said she's been feeding and rescuing animals for the past three years.

She said she was still able to make her rounds despite the current situation after getting some help from her fellow animal lovers.

Yna also left some food with security guards so they can give it to animals who come their way.

The province of Cebu was placed under enhanced community quarantine starting March 27.

As of Thursday, the Philippines has 2,633 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 107 deaths and 51 recoveries. --Margaret Claire Layug/MGP, GMA News
