For vlogging about the promdi life, netizen in Nueva Ecija earns nearly P50,000 a month!

A netizen in Cabiao, Nueva Ecija earns Php40,000 to 50,000 a month after his vlogs on his provincial life became popular online!

According to a "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho" episode on Sunday, Mark Joseph Cunanan, aka Macki Moto, is known for his vlogs that give a glimpse of what life in the province is like.

From peacefully fishing in a nearby river to cooking chicken using a can, Macki would film his numerous experiences in his hometown.

As such, he became popular among Filipinos living abroad or even those just living in Metro Manila for reminding them of what their life used to be like.

Before he went viral

According to Macki, life wasn't always like this.

"May isang araw na hindi na kami nakakain kasi walang trabaho kaya pumasok sa isip ko na pagka-graduate ng highschool pumunta ng Maynila. Baka sakaling makahanap ng magandang trabaho, makapag-ipon, makabili ng sariling motor," Macki said.

By 2010, Macki found himself working at a fastfood restaurant in Manila where he experienced some of the hardest times of his life.

Not only did he experience getting sick by himself, Macki also experienced being robbed of his belongings.

"Pinakamasakit na part is 'yung nagkasakit tatay ko tapos hindi ako nakapagpadala ng pera kasi saktong-sakto lang sinweldo ko," Macki shared.

After meeting his wife, Precious Dyza, in Manila and having three kids together, Macki decided to go back to the province to see if his luck would be better there. He felt that his salary in Manila wasn't enough to sustain his family anymore.

Back in Nueva Ecija, Macki bought a motorcycle with what little he had saved and  became a tricycle driver. On the side, Macki worked in construction and became a farmer just to be able to provide to his wife and two kids.

The birth of his vlogs

Macki continued to do his hard day's labor, when he stumbled upon a vlog that pushed him to start his own. He started with an "Ipon Challenge" vlog that attracted six viewers. Seeing the low views, he decided to just vlog about his life in the province.

"Bakit hindi nalang i-content 'yung ginagawa namin sa bukid? Sakaling may manood nito, parang ibabalik ko 'yung dating trabaho ng kababayan natin," he shared.

Macki would spend two days shooting an episode, and then he'd send the files to his wife, who then edits and uploads on YouTube.

His vlog started gaining popularity, until Mackie found himself earning almost up to Php50,000 a month.

With enough money to support his family, Macki's wife and kids moved to Nueva Ecija after seven years of being apart.

Not only was his family complete, but Macki was also able to buy a lot on which they are planning to build their house.

With the blessings he received, Macki made it a point to also give back to his community by offering relief goods to his barangay members amid the coronavirus pandemic.

At loss of words with how his life has become with the help of his viewers, Macki simply said with tears in his eyes, "Salamat sa suporta at tiwala. Maraming maraming salamat." — Kaela Malig/LA, GMA News
