Sharon Cuneta proud of Frankie Pangilinan for speaking up against rape and victim-blaming

Sharon Cuneta is very proud of her daughter Frankie Pangilinan for starting #HijaAko and fighting against rape and victim-blaming.

Sharon replied to one of Frankie's tweets, expressing her own stance on the issue after her daughter called out a Facebook post by Lucban police warning girls not to wear certain clothes to prevent sex crimes.

Sharon continued and compared rapists to pedophiles.

The Megastar said a woman's clothing is irrelevant if the person she encounters is a decent one.

Sharon defended her daughter against TV and radio personality Ben Tulfo, who called her "hija" and warned that  "sexy ladies" should be careful the way they dress up.

"You mean people shouldn’t count those who’ve been raped and murdered in the dead of winter in some other country, stripped of all their 'uninviting,' thick, layered winter clothing?" the Megastar wrote.

"My very own “hija,” MIJA, whom I brought into this world, I am incredibly proud of you," Sharon wrote. She punctuated her statement with a proud hashtag, #hijakoyan.

Frankie's #HijaAko movement quickly blew up on social media Sunday, as netizens spoke up against victim blaming and revealing their own horror sexual assult stories. Senator Francis Pangilinan, Frankie's father, immediately expressing support for his daughter.
