COVID-19 swabber gives in to fatigue after 100 patients, goes viral

A photo of an exhausted medical frontliner who took a quick rest inside a booth after conducting swab tests at a quarantine facility in Roxas City has gone viral on social media.

According to Oscar Oida’s report on “24 Oras,” Ranier Funa, the uploader and fellow health worker, said the frontliner already swabbed about 100 patients that day.

“Nanlumo po talaga ako kasi nakaka-relate ako sa sitwasyon niya. Damang-dama ko ‘yong hirap talaga as frontliner na nagbibigay po ng health care. Alam ko ‘yong sakripisyo at makasakit para lang makapagbigay serbisyo,” Funa said.

Despite the risk, he said frontliners continue to serve the public.

“Tao lang din po kami na napapagod din pero handa kaming tumulong para sa ikabubuti ng lahat,” he said.Moreover, he advised the public to refrain from going out and continue to observe health protocols to prevent the spread of the virus.
