#ManilaBayChallenge trends as netizens, celebrities use the hashtag
Many netizens are posting photos of themselves striking poses on a beach, together with a viral photo of a paparazzi-like crowd at the Manila Bay and using the hashtag #ManilaBayChallenge.
This hilarious new online trend started after a large group of people flocked to the Manila Bay Sands, the “white sand” portion of the Manila Bay area in Roxas Boulevard, Manila over the weekend.
The government drew a lot of negative criticism over the lack of social distancing measures evident in photos and videos that went viral over the weekend, forcing authorities to temporarily ban picture-taking on "Manila Bay White Sand Beach" Monday.
Meanwhile, many netizens got creative and posted their own “entries” just to spread good vibes on social media.
Even celebrities like Ashley Ortega, couldn’t resist posting a cheeky #ManilaBayChallenge photo with a witty caption.
