88-year-old lola goes viral after fearlessly diving at Ormoc pier
Age is just a number to an 88-year-old lola who gamely dived into the sea after her grandchildren cheered her to go into the water.
According Oscar Oida's report on "24 Oras," Tuesday, Lola Remedios Angelio from Ormoc City went viral after her family captured her on video diving into the sea.
In the clip, which has been viewed over two million times online, Lola can be seen standing at the pier while some of her family members were floating on the water.
"She said, 'I will dive' so we told her, 'Wait, we will take a video,'" said Maricris, one of her grandchildren.
They ribbed her with shouts of "Go Lola!" and she shocked them all by actually jumping without fear.
Maricris said they had never seen Lola Remedios dive before, so they got nervous when she did it.
"The water was a little deep and we thought she couldn't swim," she said.
They worried for nothing, however, as Lola Remedios didn't get any scratch from the dive. She even went for a repeat later on the same day.
Apparently, the grandmother has always been a good diver and swimmer since she was young, as her family lived near the sea.
When asked what is her secret to having a strong body, Lola Remedios said it's because she drinks tuba.
"She drinks it every morning after drinking milk," Maricris said as Lola Remedios laughed beside her.
