Plastic surgeon-slash-TikTokerist shares story behind his chosen profession

A Filipino doctor-slash-TikToker has been delighting thousands of followers with his unique videos about plastic surgery, which is usually a sensitive topic to talk about online.

According to GMA Public Affairs' "Dapat Alam Mo," Dr. Eric Yamjuangco a.k.a. @docyappy initially joined TikTok in 2020 to relieve himself of stress, but it turned out to be a major source of positivity for him as he got to entertain and educate people at the same time.

In an interview, Doc Yappy said he wanted to be a plastic surgeon for a long time, but it wasn't just because he wanted to change people's physical appearance.

"It's not just about [doing] the nose, or making a butt bigger, or making a breast bigger -- It's also changing your lives," he said.

Doc Yappy also had a strong message for bashers and body-shamers who like to spread negativity about plastic surgery on social media.

"Remember, we're actually giving them hope," he explained.

"At this point in time, everybody has the right to their own body. So let's just keep everything happy and everything positive."
