Netizens call out NAIA security's 'unprofessional' behavior toward ENHYPEN

K-pop group ENHYPEN's trip to Manila seems to have ended on a bad note.

Fans of ENHYPEN in the Philippines rallied for accountability after a video of a staff member at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) allegedly violating the airport's no-contact security check policy circulated online.

The female staff member appeared to be giggling as she patted down at least two members of ENHYPEN and asked at least three of them to lower their face masks.

The original video is no longer on TikTok, but fans were quick to reupload it online.

The hashtag #MIAAdoBetter trended at no. 1 on Twitter in the Philippines on Monday. "NAIA" also trended at no. 8 on Twitter in the country.

As of this writing, "Nakakahiya" and "UNPROFESSIONAL" are trending on Twitter as fans expressed their dismay over the incident.

The Office for Transportation Security (OTS) has issued a statement addressing the issue.

"The management is currently investigating the matter to determine the extent of violation committed based on existing rules and security screening protocols if any, and impose appropriate administrative sanctions, should it be necessary," the statement read in part.

"While we understand the excitement brought about by the presence of these Korean artists, we remind not only our personnel, but all airport users, that unauthorized filming at our security screening checkpoints is not allowed as a matter of policy."

"Rest assured that the OTS shall never tolerate any unprofessional behavior towards the riding public," the statement concluded.

ENHYPEN was in town for their sold-out "Manifesto" concert in Manila.
