Joey de Leon joins the viral 'Barbie' poster fun with a throwback entry

"Barbie" the movie made a virtual splash on Wednesday when it released posters of additional cast members.

The "Barbie" posters were so iconic, it didn't take long for netizens to jump the trend — thanks to a meme generator that Warner Bros. created.

Someone made expectedly made one of Barbie Forteza. Another made a remix version featuring Nanette Medved as Darna.

But what did it in for us was Joey de Leon's contribution.

On Instagram Wednesday, the "Eat Bulaga" host shared his take on the viral "Barbie" poster trend, featuring a photo of himself dressed in character from his old movie, "Barbi."

The headline read: "This Barbie is Maid in the Philippines."

The following slide off his two-photo carousel IG post showed the old movie poster showing Joey as Barbi in a Marilyn Monroe-inspired pose. His late sidekick Rene Requiestas also starred in movie, along side Jaime Fabregas, Armida Siguion-Reyna, and Jackie Aquino.

Panchito and Nova Villa also participated in the film that's not unlike Robin William's "Mrs. Doubtfire."  

"Did you know that the real name of this ‘Barbie’ is Bartolome Del Rosario?" Joey captioned his post as he tagged the Hollywood movie.

Directed by Greta Gerwig, "Barbie" stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. It will screen in Philippine cinema beginning on July 19.
