Potato Corner addresses flak over insensitive job posting that went viral
Potato Corner went viral over the weekend after it shared a job posting with insensitive qualifications.
In the now-deleted post, the popular brand included "good visual impact," "weight must be proportionate to height," and "have clear complexion, eyesight and [a] good set of teeth" as among the criteria needed for a job as a service crew member.
It made the rounds on social media, with some netizens poking fun at the post as others expressed disappointment, before Potato Corner finally deleted it.
In a statement sent to GMA News Online on Monday, Potato Corner's management said they "deeply regret the oversight in the job posting."
"We, together with our business partners, are working to ensure that such incidents will not happen in the future," the statement read.
"At Potato Corner, we firmly believe in the value of diversity and inclusion, true to what the brand provides to our cherished guests and valued business partners," it added.
"We do not support or condone discriminatory hiring practices," Potato Corner said.
