Couple finds love on home design Facebook group

From home buddies to forever lovers!

"Home Buddies,” a Facebook group that brings together home design enthusiasts, has helped hundreds, if not thousands, of homeowners transform their homes into spaces they can be proud of. Who knew it could also bring two people together?

In a report by Oscar Oida on “24 Oras” on Friday, Andrew Asencio recalled how in 2022, he posted a photo of the dream house he was working hard for, with the hopes of starting a future there with his ex-girlfriend, whom he later discovered was cheating on him.

He then concluded his post with, “This house is not hers nor ours. This is mine and I am waiting for my DREAM WIFE na kasali rin sa Home Buddies.”

Thousands of people reacted to Andrew's post, among them was fellow home buddy Camille Fiedacan. Camille added Andrew on Facebook, and the rest is history.

After sending messages back and forth, a beautiful relationship bloomed.

Last October 21, Andrew proposed to Camille but they have yet to finalize the wedding date.

“Talagang nakikita ko sa kanya ‘yung gusto ko sa isang lalaki, pang future husband talaga. Parang binigay na sa akin ni Lord ‘yung God’s gift kaya halos walang dalawang isip, oo agad,” said Camille.

[I really see in him what I want in a man, someone I can truly envision as my future husband. It's like the Lord has given me His God's gift, so I hardly have any second thoughts; I said yes right away.]

On Home Buddies, homeowners typically share their “budols,” or fantastic home discoveries, with one another. Andrew humorously remarks, “ang nabudol ko talaga eh si Camille. ‘Yung makakasama ko sa buhay so siya na po talaga ‘yung best budol ko sa Home Buddies.”

[I truly hit the jackpot with Camille. She's the one I'll be spending my life with, so she's definitely my best “budol” from Home Buddies.]

Best wishes, Andrew and Camille! Congratulations on finding your forever home.
