Attention artists and collectors: The Metropolitan Museum of Manila is inviting you to submit artworks for its first curated benefit exhibition, MET Open 2014. It is slated to open to the public from September 15 to 27, 2014 at the MET's Tall Galleries.

With the theme "The Philippine Contemporary:To Scale the Past and the Possible," MET Open 2014's goal is to showcase modern and contemporary Filipino art. It is also geared to discover new creations in different forms to give the audience an extended visual experience of today's society.

Six curators known for their expertise in the visual arts will choose the entries that will complete the exhibition. They will also provide more information on the different practices in the current art industry.

The museum will also host a special auction and private view on September 13 for entries that qualified for the MET Open 2014. Proceeds from the sale and auction will go to the exhibition and educational programs of the museum.

All visual artists—regardless of nationality, training or age, as long as you are residing in or have resided in the Philippines—are encouraged to join. Interested applicants can submit images and details of the artworks through the MET Open website until August 16. Visit the museum's website for entry forms and guidelines.
