For the first time, Hong Kong's International Chinese New Year Night Parade will get a Filipino flavor with the Bacolod City's MassKara representing the Philippines in the yearly event.

The Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong said the MassKara will be among the performing groups from all over the world for the parade with the theme "Sweet 20 World Party."

In a news release, the consulate general said this is the first time the Philippines will participate in the annual night parade since it started in 1996.

According to the consulate general, the night parade is scheduled from 8 to 9:45 p.m. at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza in Tsim Sha Tsui.

It said the parade will pass Canton Road, Haiphong Road, and Nathan Road.

Best viewing locations include the area around Harbour City and The Sun Arcade on Canton Road, and around Nathan Road and Peking Road/Middle Road Interchange. — Joel Locsin/VC, GMA News
