Art and technology come together for ‘BenCab in Two Movements’

As part of a multi-museum celebration of National Artist in Visual Arts Benedicto Cabrera's distinguished 50-year artistic career, the exhibit "BenCab in Two Movements" is currently on show at the Yuchengco Museum in Makati City.

This is no ordinary exhibit, either. The museum has partnered with Samsung to offer an interactive experience using customized Smart TV and mobile apps.

These will convey curatorial information about the artworks and provide visitors with an "immersive" way to appreciate them, with digitalized works from the master's sketchbooks—featuring sketches of dancers San Lee and Paulina Wycichowska that he drew over the years—allowing the viewer to join BenCab's subjects in graceful movement.

According to the electronics giant in a statement, the SUHD and UHD TV technology used in the exhibit produces "images with much deeper blacks" and "the highest color purity and light efficiency available," to offer "a wide range of more accurate colors, providing viewers with 64 times more color expression than conventional TVs."
