Historian Xiao Chua offering free walking tour in honor of Rizal

Historian and educator Prof. Michael Charleston "Xiao" Chua is offering a free walking tour of historic areas in Manila on December 15, Tuesday.

Chua, who is also a GMA News columnist, is offering the free tour "in honor of the heroism and martyrdom of Dr. Jose Rizal." December 30 will mark the 119th anniversary of the national hero's execution in Bagumbayan in 1896.

Organized by Proyekto and Sucesos Heritage Advocacy, Research and Education Society, the tour will start at 8:30 a.m. on December 15 and will take participants to the Rizal Shrine in Fort Santiago and the Casa Manila Museum, also in Intramuros.

After a lunch break, the tour will resume at 1 p.m. and make its way to the National Museum and then Rizal Park.

The tour is free. Participants only need to pay for any entrance fees.
