Meet Jeepito, probably the cutest jeep in the world
"Small but amazing, just like the Philippines" is how Tonton Papa Tan described his creation, the Jeepito.
As the diminutive at the end of the word suggests, the Jeepito is like a baby jeep. It measures 55 inches in height, 92 inches in length, and 42 inches in width.
Tan said that it could fit in alleys and is safer than motorcycles. But the Jeepito is more social than it is commercial or personal.
He is planning to use his creation to entertain and inspire children he meets in his charity work to be inventive.
With the Jeepito, he hopes increase their awareness of social responsibility as well.
The Philippine flag is painted on the roof of the Jeepito and pedestrians remarked its aesthetic revived their appreciation for the much-maligned public utility vehicle.
"It's really one of a kind. Naibabalik natin yung namiss natin na magandang jeep," said Nathan Zafra, an apparent admirer of the Jeepito.
"Kasi, sorry ha, pero yung mga jeep kasi ngayon, medyo makabiyahe lang, parang hindi na nila inaayos," he added.
Tan is planning to tour the Jeepito around the country to boost tourism.
