Wanderland Music & Arts Festival 2016: The complete lineup

It’s only a little over a month until this year’s Wanderland Music & Arts Festival.

Most fans of the 13 bands who will be performing may have probably secured their tickets months ago, so this is for those who are still not sure whether they should attend or not, or those who are not yet familiar with most bands but want to join the party.

Here is a complete list of all the artists who will be performing, as well as some information and tracks to check out if you want to get to know them better.

Death Cab for Cutie

With eight studio albums to boot, this American band has become one of the most influential alternative/indie rock bands of their generation. This song is off their 2013 Transatlanticism album, which is arguably one of their best.

Bon Iver

Founded by singer/songwriter Justin Vernon, this band has two full-length albums, the Grammy award-winning For Emma, Forever Ago, and the critically-acclaimed Bon Iver. This is one of their lesser-known but equally arresting songs, off the EP Blood Bank, which was released in 2009.

The Naked and Famous

This song by the New Zealand-based band won Single of the Year at the 2011 New Zealand Music Awards. This is a relatively old material, off the album Passive Me Aggressive You, but remains one of their most popular—it now has over 13.8 million YouTube views.

San Cisco

Like MGMT and Vampire Weekend? Check these guys out. Australian band San Cisco, which has two studio albums and three EPs, cited these as two of their songwriting influences. Check out their SoundCloud here.

Panama
Also from Australia, this band is composed of Jarrah McCleary (vocals, keyboards, guitar) and Tim Commandeur (drums). This synth pop song is off their 2013 EP Always.

BlackBird BlackBird

BlackBird BlackBird is Hawaii-based Mikey Maramag, which has been compared to bands like Washed Out, M83, and Caribou with his textured and ambient hooks. You can listen to more tracks on his Bandcamp page.

Chad Valley
Chad Valley is the moniker of English electronic artist Hugo Manuel. He has released two studio albums (Young Hunger and Entirely New Blue), as well as two EPs, and has worked with big names like Twin Shadow and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs. This song is off his first album.

Commandeur

This is the solo project by Sydney-based drummer, songwriter, and producer Tim Commandeur—infectious pop/electronic music that’s a labor of love. If you like what you hear, visit his SoudCloud for more tracks.

CRWN and Jess Connelly
This duo is composed of Filipino-Irish Jessica Connelly and Manila-based producer CRWN. Listen to their How I Love EP on SoundCloud.

Jensen and the Flips

Here’s a highly entertaining slow-motion video of the R&B/Soul band’s song “Slow,” the first single off their album Honeymoon under Yellow Room Music Philippines.

Curtismith
Curtismith, or Mito Fabie, is a Manila-based rapper/singer that will bring some infectious hip hop beats and words that will need your utmost attention, so listen closely. Give him a listen on SoundCloud.

Cheats

There is no denying that Manila-based Cheats is one of today’s fastest-rising bands—and for good reason. They’re performing in two big music festivals (one of which is happening overseas) on the first months of 2015 alone, and their songs are getting more airplay by the day. Listen to them perform this more stripped-down version of their song “Accidents.”

Oh, Flamingo

The winner of this year’s Wanderband. If you can’t check these guys out in gigs of indie prods like Attraction! Reaction!, you can simply turn on your computer and sing along, videoke-style.
