Young Fil-Aussie to share stage with Rachelle Ann Go in ‘Les Miserables’

The stage is set and the lineup is complete! Over a month prior to opening night, the cast of the Manila run of "Les Miserables" is revealed and it turns out, another Filipina will be onstage with Rachelle Ann Go.

 

Go was earlier confirmed as Fantine and joining her is Chloe De Los Santos, who will be playing little Cosette. De Los Santos previously played the role of Princess Ying Yaowalak in and Australian production of  "The King and I."

Alongside Go and De Los Santos, Simon Gleeson and Earl Carpanter will play Valjean and Javert. Gleeson's portrayal of Valhean has earned him a Helpmann Award for Best Male Actor in a Musical, while Carpenter is fresh out of his role as the inspector in the Broadway run of the "Les Mis." Carpenter was also part of the original and 25th Anniversary productions of the musical.

The elder Cosette will be played by Emily Landgridge, paired with Paul Wilkins as Marius. On her own is Kerrie Anne Greenland as Eponine. Like Gleeson, Greenland also won a Heppmann Award for her role in Les Miserables.

Helen Walsh and Cameron Blakely take on the role of Madame and Monsieur Thenardier and completing the lineup is Chris Durling as Enjolras.

"Les Miserables" is set to open at The Theatre in Solaire in March. — AT, GMA News
