Wicked” first opened in Manila on January 22, 2014 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines starring Jemma Rix (Elphaba) and Suzie Mathers (Glinda).

The musical is based on Gregory Maguire’s novel of the same title, chronicling the events that transpired before Dorothy of L. Frank Baum’s “The Wizard of Oz” started her journey along the yellow brick road.

It tells the tale of roommates Elphaba (emerald-skinned and a bit of an outcast) and Glinda (pretty and popular and...blond). The story revolves around their differences and how these changed their lives—for good.
