Pinay designer Happy Andrada set for Toronto fashion week
After a successful run in Amsterdam and London Fashion Weeks, Filipina fashion designer Happy Andrada is going to Toronto Arts and Fashion Week.
She made the announcement on her Twitter account on Sunday.
Last January, Andrada showcased her Autumn/ Winter 2016 Collection during the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam. The collection was inspired by the “aesthetic of interplanetary proportions and allusions from futurists and their theories of the world to come.”
The pieces were made of pina abaca, abaca lace, Philippine duponi combined with denim, organza, tafetta, silk, and charmeuse. Techniques she used included digital printing, dip dyeing, laser cuts, origami, appliqués braiding and looping of materials.

After Amsterdam, Andrada headed to London Fashion Week in late March to showcase her latest Bridal Ready-To-Wear collection. The collection focused on elegance, sophistication, and timeless chic. The materials she used were French lace, organza, satin, charmeuse silk, silk chiffon, and tulle. The gowns were then adorned with Swarovski and and other handcrafted details. Most of the silhuoettes were pleated flowing gowns and tiered volume skirts.
