Designer to royals Amir Sali awes crowd at PHL Fashion Week

From royals to runway, Amir Sali lavished the 20th Philippine Fashion Week at Discovery Primea over the weekend with his intricate beadwork on varying shades of white.

The designer set up shop in the country after 17 years of couture work in the Middle East.

On Sunday, Sali played around with shimmer, tassels, and feathers—but nothing too over-the-top, save perhaps for a bejeweled mask that would require a very special occasion to be donned without raising a few eyebrows.

His crowning piece for the night—a slender, ivory gown with a sweetheart neckline and grande petal-like sleeves—caused edible gasps and applause from the audience.
