Giant murals brighten up Bonifacio Global City
From a somber Andres Bonifacio to colorful flower chains and inspirational messages, the murals of Bonifacio Global City are eye-catching displays that hope to brighten up your day.
The murals—emblazoned on the sides of buildings in the upmarket residential and commercial area in Taguig City—were created by local and foreign artists as part of a program by the Bonifacio Art Foundation to bring art closer to the public, particularly young people.
They were featured in a report by Cata Tibayan on 24 Oras.
"We want to make it an interesting walk for people who live and work here," said Bonifacio Art Foundation art program manager Monica Llamas in the report.
"We want people's minds to open up and be inspired. Come take selfies and discover, and see where it takes you."
The foundation posted many of the murals on its Instagram account, using the hashtag #ArtBGC2016.
Many were created during a "mural festival" last year. Eleven artists from other countries joined local artists in creating the murals that now dot the neighborhood. — BM, GMA News
