Butterfly sleeves still a hit at Duterte’s first SONA
By TRISHA MACAS, GMA News
Following the new administration's simpler dress code for President Rodrigo Duterte's first State of the Nation Address, a lot of the guests at this year's SONA veered away from the usual SONA glitz and glamour.
But apparently butterfly sleeves have staying power. Even with the directive that women guests should let go of their gowns and go for business outfits or knee-length Filipiniana instead, many wore outfits that had the terno's distinctive sleeves.
And while notable fashionistas like SONA favorites Tootsy Angara and Yasmine Vargas arrived at the Batasang Pambansa on Monday in code-compliant wear, there were others who looked like they did not get the memo and still showed up in long gowns.
