Palace releases Brillante Mendoza-made TV ads in anti-drug campaign
The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) on Friday released its anti-drug campaign videos made by award-winning film director Brillante Mendoza.
The TV ads focus on how drug abuse ruins family ties.
Just like his critically acclaimed films, Mendoza's anti-drug ads depicted a hopeless world for drug users and pushers.
But this time, the video reminded the public that it is never too late to be a "partner for change," the Duterte administration's catchphrase in encouraging Filipinos to help the government.
The videos revolve around a negligent father who is a drug addict and a hardworking overseas Filipino worker mother whose son is a drug user.
“The advertisements will target the Filipino families who might be dealing with problems caused by drug abuse. All hope is not lost; the time to end illegal drug-dependence is now,” PCO chief Sec. Andanar explained.
The videos were directed by Mendoza for free, PCO said.
As endorsed by the Movie And Television Review And Classification Board (MTCRB), a 30-second version of each of the videos will be aired on TV and on cinemas nationwide. —NB, GMA News
