Janine Tugonon misses cut for Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show

Shortly after revealing that she was among the models in the final casting for the upcoming Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in Paris, model and Miss Universe 2012 1st runner-up Janine Tugonon said that she won't be walking the runway as one of the lingerie line's Angels this year.

Tugonon took time to answer fan questions and vowed to work harder and continue to represent the country.

“Was really sad but that's life. Would have been better if there's a Filipina in VSFS, but oh well. Let's keep working hard!” she said in a tweet last week.

Among those who are set to participate in the 2016 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show are veterans Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, and Lily Aldridge, as well as young models Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid and Bella Hadid.

The fashion show, which will be staged in Paris for the first time, will air in the US on December 5.

Before trying out for the famous fashion show, Janine appeared as a beautiful student in “College Life,” an advertisement for Victoria's Secret Pink.

The video for the world-renowned lingerie line for younger women also features models Ali Collier, Lara Ghraoui, and Cheyenne DePree-Yen.

Janine has also been selected as one of the 12 NU Muses, who will be featured in a calendar shot by David Bellemere.

According to the project, it is looking to revisit the classic art of nude and "capture the elegance and romance of the female form, worthy of gracing fine art galleries and walls."

The first runner-up at the Miss Universe pageant in 2012,  Tugonon is pursuing her studies and her modeling dreams in the US.
