Duterte wants to open Malacañang to elementary, HS students

President Rodrigo R. Duterte on Sunday said he wants to open up Malacañang Palace to the public, especially elementary and high school students.

"It is not really intended for me... Inyo 'yan, pasok kayo... wag lang masyadong marami," he said in a speech during the Belenismo Awards 2016 in Tarlac City.

According to Duterte, the public may arrange to enter the Palace through the President's Hotline at 8888, provided they are only small groups.

"Kokonti lang, specially students. Gusto ko 'yang mga bata — grade school, they should be allowed first [pati] high school, gusto ko sila muna," he said.

Duterte added that he does not sleep in the official presidential residence. — Jon Viktor D. Cabuenas/BM, GMA News
