The Earth Day celebration at SM City Marilao in Bulacan featured e-lluminArt, an eco-friendly light installation on the theme of recycling, reducing energy consumption and sustainability.

Created by artist Brian Sergio in collaboration with Zarate Manila’s Jim Torres, the installation consists of : the e-lluminArt Arc, a 15-foot-high, solar-powered arc made of more than 100 re-purposed plastic bottles lit by LEDs; the e-lluminArt Globe, a dome made of recycled steel wires covered in elastic cork and garter tapes; and the e-lluminArt Floorboard and Lantern, made from recycled tires and plastic bottles.

All of the recycled materials used in the art were recovered from the Marilao River.

The art installation will be on display until May 18.
