Muslim community to observe Ramadan starting May 26
Muslims across the world are set to enter the holy month of Ramadan on Friday evening, May 26.
From sunrise to sunset, members of the Muslim community will abstain from eating, drinking, smoking, and sex. The fast is a symbolic cleanse from earthly pleasures.

During this time, non-Muslims are enjoined to be respectful and recognize the sacred nature of the occasion.

The fasting and praying end in the evening of June 24 and is followed by Eid al-Fitr, which may be marked by a feast shared with family, friends, and neighbors.
Malacañang on Thursday clarified that they have not made any proclamations declaring the start of Ramadan as a special non-working day.
