Band surprises NY subway riders with rousing 3:30 a.m. performance
A three-piece band in New York City surprised early morning commuters as they boarded a train while playing their song "Bedford" whilst filming for a music video that was uploaded online on Thursday (June 29).
The band, Too Many Zooz, who started off busking in New York subway stations in 2013, begin the music video by playing on the platform of Bedford Avenue station at 3:33 am, according to the video captions. They then board a subway train and take it to another station in Manhattan, where they disembark and end the song.
Some commuters record video of the band, who play in a style they call "brass house", whilst other passengers cheer as they leave the train. The entire five-minute video was shot in a single take.
Too Many Zooz was propelled to viral fame in 2014 after several passers-by uploaded the band's subway performances to YouTube, with some videos garnering millions of views. Since then, the band has released an album and two EPs, as well as performing with Beyonce at the CMA Awards in 2016. — Reuters
