Aicelle Santos to join Ballet Philippines' revival of ‘Tales of the Manuvu’

Kapuso star Aicelle Santos will be coming home to a wonderful project.

Aicelle's run as Gigi for UK and Ireland tour of "Miss Saigon" wraps up early next year, after which she'll join Ballet Philippines for a revival of "Tales of the Manuvu."

As the title suggests, the ballet — also tagged a "rock opera" — focuses on folklore and myths of the Manobo as written by National Artist for Literature Bienvenido Lumbera.

Origins stories and more will be told in breathtaking choreography by National Artist for Dance Alice Reyes. Francis De Veyra will be providing a new arrangement for the music of Nonong Pedero.

"Tales from the Manuvu" premiered in 1977. It will return to the stage in March 2019. — AT, GMA News
