ART FAIR PHL 2019

Japanese art collective teamLab will show in the PHL for the very first time, thanks to this Singaporean gallery

Japanese art collective — and a favorite among Pinoy art enthusiasts — teamLab will show in the Philippines for the very first time.

It is among the special exhibitions that visitors of Art Fair Philippines can take delight in, alongside the heralded Fernando Botero exhibit, David Medalla's “A Stitch in Time,” and Neal Oshima and Olivia D’Aboville’s “Plastic in our Oceans” exhibit.

teamLab's exhibit will be among the presentations of Singapore's Gajah Gallery in the upcoming event, featuring two digital renderings of three-dimensional space.

The 4 channel "Gold Waves" can be viewed at the Gajah Gallery Booth (57, level 7) while the 9 channel "Reversible Rotation — Continuous Black in White" can be appreciated at the Globe Platinum Booth 1 on Level 4.

The pieces are what the collective refers to as “a way of seeing the world that lures us in.”

According to teamLab, “Reversible Rotation – Continuous, Black in White” reconstructs Japanese sho in three dimensional space and expresses the depth, speed and power of the brush stroke.

Other artists in Gajah’s Art Fair Philippines roster are Filipino Jigger Cruz, Indonesians Fika Ria Santika, Yunizar, Erizal As, and Ibrahim; Singaporean Suzann Victor, Malaysia’s Sabri Idrus, and Bali-based American Ashley Bickerton.
