'Stand For Truth' is not your regular newscast

GMA Network's weeknight online newscast "Stand for Truth" is finally coming to screens on April 15.

Headlined by the award-winning broadcast journalist Atom Araullo, renowned analyst Richard Heydarian, and influential online personality Joyce Pring, "Stand for Truth" is a newscast produced and reported "by the young for the young".

According to GMA Network First Vice President for Public Affairs Nessa Valdellon, the show will be different from everything else the network has created before.

"The show will contain live analysis, data-driven segments, hindi lang 'yung normal news," she said. "Magiging mas malalim and may daily music segment tayo. We just recently shot Ben&Ben and IV of Spades actually."

Atom Araullo will anchor the show, which will feature a new breed of reporters from all over the country doing mobile journalism. Richard Heydarian will provide on-the-spot analysis and anchor segments that will show the numbers, history and policies behind issues while Joyce Pring will host the music segment that features the language of the generation.

Ten young reporters were specifically chosen for the show after a rigorous process: Bhea Jeem Docyogen, Anthony Esguerra, Asmarie Labao, Shai Lagarde, Ardo Miravalles, Darwin Quirinoo, Manal Suagado, Larize Lee, Eduard Faraon, and Jerald Uy.

"Stand for Truth" is a project funded by a grant from online video platform YouTube.

The 15-minute news program will stream on GMA News Online and on the GMA Public Affairs YouTube page.  —JST, GMA News
